Leah Emery

Acro

Leah grew up in Levittown, New York and began dance at the early age of two years old. She started with recreational dance of all styles. At age seven, she started training competitively, attending four regional competitions and one national competition per year. Around 2017, Leah started student teaching at her home studio in multiple styles such as jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, and contemporary. Leah joined her high schools varsity kickline team at Island Trees High School in 2020. Being on multiple teams at once helped her learn how to manage her time well and understand all sides of the dance world, learning styles outside of the ones a person would typically see at a dance studio. Leah decided that she wanted to continue her dance journey after graduating high school in 2024 and tried out for Long Island University’s D1 dance team. She was recruited at clinic prior to auditions and decided this was where she would continue her dance education and performances, but knew that she still had a love for being in the studio and teaching kids to dance and flip just as much as she loved to do it herself. She is eager to work with children of all ages and share her passion so that one day her students will become something great.
