Alec started dancing at age 3 in Washington DC at the DC Dance Collective and then Joy of Motion. At age 10 Alec was accepted into the Joy of Motion’s Junior Company and the Dance Theatre of Harlem’s Pre-Professional company. As a member of both companies, Alec performed at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, Concert Hall and Opera House, the latter performing in American Ballet Theatre’s Othello. Upon moving to Michigan Alec began attending dance competitions and conventions in the Detroit area, winning First Overall solo in 2013 at Rainbow Dance Competition and Mr. Dance 2015 at KAR National Dance Competition. After graduating from high school Alec attended Western Michigan University (WMU). While at WMU Alec was among the first group of college students to perform Antony Tudor’s The Lilac Garden as part of WMU’s Department of Dance Great Work Winter Gala. Alec graduated from WMU in April 2019 with a BA in dance, a minor in business management and certificate in Dance Studio Management. In August of 2019, Alec moved to New York City after being accepted into the Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester Program. Since then, Alec has performed at different events in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Alec’s favorite styles of dance are jazz, lyrical and ballet and aspires to dance in movies, tv and award shows, music videos and tours.
