Teacher Spotlight - Miss Amanda
Miss Amanda has been a dedicated staff member at 5678 Dance for over 10 years. When she is not at the studio she works as a freelance visual artist. This past year she has worked on a few projects that we are excited to share with our dance family.
In December 2021 she illustrated a children's book, titled "Remember the Little Things"
A heart-warming story about family and the adventures of Carl and Casey. Take a ride with them to Nana and Papa's upstate house and enjoy all the exciting activities! Be awoken by the delicious aroma of breakfast in the morning and lessons about trying your very best in everything you do!

In October/November 2021, Urban Studio Unbound/Warburton Galerie, a contemporary art gallery in Yonkers, NY, the not-for-profit organization where she is a Co-Director & the Education Coordinator, celebrated their 3 Year Anniversary in their most recent exhibition space. Here, Miss Amanda has been able to display her large scale 3-d installations, as well as her drawings & paintings. During this time they were also the recipients of an Arts Westchester grant that provided funding for them to run free art workshops for underprivileged youth in the community.

In September 2021, she was the featured artist at this year’s Billion Oyster Party at Liberty Warehouse in Brooklyn. She created a one-of-a-kind chandelier made from recycled oyster shells from NYC restaurants as well as metal wine tops used during the event. The piece went into a silent auction to raise funds for all of the meaningful environmental work Billion Oyster Project does in NYC. This opportunity was made possible by Villa Maria Wines, an organic vineyard out of New Zealand.
